Tips for flattening clothes without an iron

Clothes are easily wrinkled after machine washing and if you don’t have an iron, you can still flatten them by applying the tips below.

A flattering outfit not only helps highlight the beauty of the wearer, but also helps leave an impression of being neat, serious, trustworthy, and respectful of those you come into contact with. Clothes often wrinkle easily after machine washing, especially if you leave them in the machine for a long time before hanging them out to dry.

Tips for flattening clothes without an iron will “save” you in case the wrinkled item is made of fabric that cannot be ironed; or when your home iron is broken, or when you go on a business trip and the hotel does not have this device available.

Tips for flattening clothes without an iron

You can apply the following measures to make your clothes smooth without using an iron.

Use a hair dryer

A hair dryer not only helps dry clothes but also helps remove wrinkles easily.

The simple way to do this is as follows: Place the clothes on a flat surface, straighten them, turn on the dryer at the hottest setting, and move continuously over the clothes. Note, the distance between the shirt and the dryer is a few centimeters. The heat of the dryer helps clothes stretch and flatten out. For better results, you can spray a few more drops of water on the clothes.

Use a hair styler

You can use a hair styler to smooth out small wrinkles on your shirt such as the neck or sleeves.

Turn on the styler at a temperature of 120 – 140 degrees Celsius, clip the wrinkled shirt like you would iron your hair and then remove it. Note, you should only leave the hair styler at the above average temperature and clip clothes for a short time to avoid burning your clothes.

Spray water on clothes

Spraying water on clothes and letting them dry will be an effective trick for flattening clothes without an iron. You should use a spray nozzle, spray at a distance of 30cm, then shake the clothes out flat and dry naturally.

Take advantage of steam in the shower

Hang your clothes on a hook in the bathroom and leave them near the steaming spot for 15 – 20 minutes to iron them flat. Warm steam will help remove wrinkles and also remove odors or food odors from clothes.

Use kettle of water

A familiar tool in every kitchen – a kettle – can also help iron clothes very well.

You just need to boil the kettle so that the steam rises, hold the clothes about 20cm in front of the steam, then pull the clothes straight out and the wrinkles will be visibly reduced.

How to wash clothes to limit wrinkles

  • Sort clothes by fabric: Clothes made from cotton or soft elastic should not be washed with jeans or wool because they can easily become tightly wrapped and stuck together, causing wrinkles.
  • Use a laundry bag: A laundrybag helps keep items from being tightly wrapped together, while also limiting damage to clothes when washing by machine.
  • Adjust the appropriate spin speed: For clothes such as shirts, cotton clothes or children’s clothes, you should use the gentle washing mode and moderate spin speed. Fabrics that wrinkle easily should be washed by hand. If using a machine, choose a low spin speed because the faster you spin, the easier it is for the clothes to get twisted together.
  • Clothes should be hung instead of folded.
