Nipah is listed by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the virus most likely to cause the next pandemic.
Nicknamed “brain swelling,” Nipah caused death in 100 of the 300 cases in 1999.
There is currently no known Nipah vaccine. However, it is known that Oxford University is working on the subject.
