Baguette With Herbs

Baguette, or as the French call it, a baguette, is an easy type of bread that is often used for snacks. They can be covered with many tasty spreads, with butter and oil with herbs. But which herbs are good with baguettes?

Mix 3 tbsp. oil foil and herbs, for example oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme and pepper. Mix this well together. Spread the baguette with this mixture or make slits and add the mixture. Now bake in the oven at 220 degrees for 5 minutes.

Baguettes are usually made from flour. Read our blog about the difference between flour and flour . Seasoning baguettes is also easy to do. There are many types of baguettes for sale in the supermarket, both baked and baked at home. Choose your baguette, now we’re going to season it.

Herb baguette

For the seasoning of baguette you can use both baked baguette or baguette that you still have to bake at home. You can season both! The baked baguette will, if you still put it in the oven, become slightly crispier than the baguette that has yet to be baked.

Which is also a possibility to cut baked baguette and to spread the pieces of baguette without going into the oven. This is also a possibility to season baguette and no less tasty.

Of course baguette, which you still have to bake at home, will go into the oven, together with herbs of course. I will now describe some tasty spice combinations that you can use. I do not only use herbs for this, but also other seasonings.

Baguette With Herbs

Let’s start with an Italian seasoning. Delicious with pasta or as a snack. What do you need for this delicious baguette?

  • 1 large baguette or 2 small bake-off baguettes
  • 3-4 tablespoons oil foil
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1-2 teaspoons of Italian herbs or a mix of dried oregano, basil, thyme and rosemary.
  • pinch of paprika, smoked
  • coarse sea salt

What are you going to do in the kitchen?

  1. If you are not using Italian herbs, crush the thyme and rosemary with a sharp knife or mortar.
  2. If you have baked baguette, first put it in the oven for 5 minutes at the indicated temperature.
  3. Squeeze the garlic in a press and add all the spices and the olive oil. Mix everything together well.
  4. Now spread the top of the baguette with the herb oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt. Place the bread in the oven at 220 degrees for 4-5 minutes.
  5. You can also make slits in the baguette and spoon the spice mix into the slits. Both variants are tasty.

If the spice mixture runs off this is not a problem, this only gives the bread extra taste. It can be useful to place the bread on baking paper or in a large oven dish to prevent the oil from dripping.

You can also season pieces/slices of baguette. We’re going to prepare this now.

Make your own herb baguette

You can also make pieces of baguette with herbs. For this you use baked baguette and cut it into pieces/slices.

Make a spice mixture as described above. You can also use a different spice mix, such as with Provencal herbs, garlic, pepper and salt.

Or a mix of finely chopped parsley, chives, garlic and salt and pepper. Basically, mix your spices with oil foil and make your own spice mixture.

Put the herb mixture on the pieces of baguette and place these rolls in the oven at 200 degrees for 3-4 minutes. Now they get nice and crispy.

Another alternative is to cut the baked baguette into pieces. Place the oil/spice mix in a bowl. Now everyone can take a piece of bread and pour the spice mix over the baguette with a spoon. This is also very tasty, but less crunchy. Serve with olives, for example, and it’s delicious.
