  1. Place the sliced ​​and washed leeks in a wok with hot oil. 
  2. Leave the heat source on high and add the leeks to the wok. 
  3. Keep stirring or ‘turning’ the leek in the wok so that it does not burn. 
  4. Do this for about 10 minutes. 
  5. Add salt and pepper, taste and serve!

There are many recipes for leeks with many ingredients. I have chosen some recipes that differ from each other. It includes a recipe with mushrooms, one with ginger and one with crème frache, for which I use soy cream. We start with: 

Leek à la crème

What do you need to stir-fry leeks for 4 people: 

  • 500 grams leek
  • 2 tablespoons soy cream 
  • 1 tablespoon mustard 
  • sunflower oil 
  • Salt and pepper 

To stir-fry the leek, you must first cut and wash it. Do this as described above.  

  1. Place a wok over high heat and add some sunflower oil. 
  2. Put the sliced ​​leek in the wok and stir the leek constantly, otherwise the leek will burn. Keep the fire high. 
  3. When the leek has shrunk, about 10 minutes later, you can stir the soy cream and mustard together.  
  4. Add the mustard mixture to the leek and stir well into the leek. 
  5. Taste the leek and add some salt and pepper if needed. 

This is a delicious dish for pasta.

The following recipe is a recipe with more ingredients, so will take more time. Once made, it will taste delicious.  

Leek Stir-fried Mushrooms

Stir-frying with leek and mushrooms is easy and the end result tastes delicious. The necessities for 4 people are: 

  • 500 grams leek washed and sliced 
  • 250 grams mushrooms or mixed mushrooms cut into quarters 
  • Sunflower oil or coconut oil 
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed 
  • 1 onion chopped 
  • Pepper and salt 
  • 2 tsp dried thyme 

Preparation method: 

  1. Place a wok on the heat source and add oil. 
  2. Place the onion in the wok and fry until translucent. 
  3. Add the garlic and thyme and stir briefly. 
  4. Add the mushrooms and leek and stir fry over medium heat, about 7 minutes. 
  5. Add salt and pepper and taste if you like it. If not, season a little more. 

This leek is delicious with baked potatoes.

Leek Stir-fry Herbs

In this recipe, with soy sauce and ginger, we show how versatile leeks can be: 

Requirements for 4 people are:

  • Leek, 4 pieces, washed and cut as described above. 
  • Cashew nuts unsalted and roasted 
  • Garlic, 2 cloves 
  • 3 cm ginger, peeled and grated 
  • 6 tbsp soy sauce 
  • 1 block of tofu in cubes 
  • 4 tbsp lime juice 
  • Pepper and salt  
  • sunflower oil 

Preparation method: 

  1. Marinate the tofu with the soy sauce and lime juice. Let it rest in the fridge for at least an hour. 
  2. Then fry the tofu nicely brown on all sides and set it aside. 
  3. Place a wok on a heat source and heat the oil in it. 
  4. Add the garlic and ginger to the wok and stir for a while, but not too long as it will burn. 
  5. Add the leeks to the garlic and ginger and mix well. 
  6. Stir fry the leek for 5 minutes on medium heat. 
  7. Add the tofu to the leek with the marinade and stir briefly. Let it cook for another 5 minutes with the leek. The leek is now cooked. 
  8. Spoon the leek and sprinkle the cashew nuts over it. 

This leek is delicious with white rice and sweet and sour cucumber. Enjoy your meal. 

Wok with leek

Another recipe with leek woks, now with curry powder. 

Requirements for 4 people are:,

  • 4 leeks, washed and cut as described above boven 
  • 100 ml soy cream 
  • curry powder 
  • 1 tsp sambal oelek 
  • sunflower oil 

How to make a leek wok dish with curry: 

  1. Place a wok on the stove and heat the oil. 
  2. Place the sliced ​​and washed leeks in the wok and fry for about 10 minutes. Now the leek is cooked. 
  3. Sprinkle half a tablespoon of curry powder over the leek and stir well 
  4. Now you can add the soy cream and stir it well so that the cream turns yellow. 
  5. The sambal Oelek can also be added to the sauce. 
  6. Taste to see if you want to add salt and pepper.
