If you want to use the spring onion again in, for example, a warm dish, do not let the spring onion thaw, but put it directly in the pan or wok from the freezer. Bake it for no more than 5 minutes.

If you use it on a salad or sandwich, then of course let it thaw. Remove the spring onion from the freezer and let it thaw for 10 minutes.

After defrosting you will see that the crunchy texture has disappeared. However, the spring onion has retained all its flavor.

Not good anymore

The spring onion is no longer good if the leaves are shriveled and dried out. Sliced spring onions from the fridge can become snotty, so always look, smell and taste before using.
