5 steps to stay motivated
When we start a project , our level of excitement and energy is always at its highest. But, as we begin to put tasks into practice and deal with difficulties, we become discouraged – and even want to give up .
This is all part of the process, especially when we have long-term goals. But there’s a way: the website Greatist (content in English) listed five steps to regain your spirits and go all the way. Check it out below.
Wake up early
Are you running out of time? So complete your task as soon as you wake up, as the first hour after getting out of bed is the time when the mind and body are most prepared to tune in to ambitious plans.
Focusing on your goal early in the morning is good preparation for the day. Use this time to prioritize your dreams and projects. Take a piece of paper and write down what project you want to work on that day, a person you need to talk to and what task brings you closest to completing the project.
Think big
Staying focused on immediate tasks for the day can seem tedious. So, when you lack motivation, think big: remember what you want to achieve and imagine how good you will feel when that happens. This helps you maintain your commitment to even the most boring tasks.
Go slow
Sometimes we get so excited about a project, and it starts to work out so well, that we want to speed up the process and do even more. However, dedicating yourself to many changes at the same time can be extremely tiring and make you want to give up.
That’s why it’s better to go slow and steady, completing the tasks step by step . Commit to a couple of changes, work hard to get there, and then move on to the next ones.
Give it time
When you feel like you’re stagnating, stop for a moment . Allow yourself time to acknowledge your progress to this point and assimilate what has been learned. It may be that ideas just need time to develop and come to the surface. Relax for a bit and then get back to focusing on work.
Visualize the end
When you feel like stopping , visualize your project when it will be finished, complete. It’s a way to get an extra boost of energy , especially in the final stretch.
