Ingredients: This recipe will serve 6 people. It will take 40 minutes to prep the items for cooking, even longer if you make your own pasta at home (this recipe will use the store-bought kind). The cooking time is 20 minutes. Following are the ingredients required for the dish.

  • Store-Bought Spaghetti.
  • 2 lb (0.91 kg) beef
  • ½ cup of Bread crumbs
  • ½ cup of chopped parsley.
  • Parmesan according to taste.
  • 2 eggs
  • Minced Garlic Cloves
  • Kosher Salt
  • Red Paper flakes
  • Ground Black Paper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Olive Oil

Ground The Meat: For making the meatballs, you will require ground beef. You can purchase ground beef from the store, but grinding beef at home will help you retain the juicy flavor in the meat, providing you with a more authentic taste. Now, you can practically grind any part of beef, but the most professional chef would prefer chuck steak or round steak for its meat to fat ratio. Look for the best meat grinder to find a machine suitable for your kitchen needs.

Make Meatballs: Once you grind the meat well, it is time to make the meatballs. Add finely minced garlic, onion, spices, and seasoning to the ground meat and knead them well for a full minute. Break two eggs and drop them in the bowl. Add breadcrumbs to the bowl and again mix them well for a minute. Now use both of your palms and make balls out of the ground beef. Add oil to a shallow pan and fry the balls until golden brown.

The Sauce: Take a separate saucepan and create the classic tomato sauce for your spaghetti. This process can be a bit time-consuming, but it is essential to give the time to boil the tomatoes until they turn into a thick sauce.

  • Over medium heat, sauté onion, garlic in olive oil until the onions are translucent.
  • Add sugar and salt to taste. Stir for one full minute, and then add the crushed tomatoes. Let the tomatoes cook for five minutes, and then add the bay leaf to the pot.
  • You may add a bit of Parmesan to the sauce to make it thicker.
  •  Add seasoning every step of the way. Be sure to check the consistency and seasoning of the sauce. Continuously stir the sauce to avoid lumpy sauce.

Add Spaghetti: Once the sauce is done, you can add the boiled spaghetti and fried meatballs. Let the spaghetti cook for a couple of minutes more. Now add the grated cheese to the spaghetti. While platting up the dish, you may also add basil leaves as garnishing.
