lasagna ingredients

  • 1 pack of lasagna (sheet dough)
  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • 2 spoonful butter
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 carrots (diced)
  • 400 grams medium-fat ground beef
  • 2 cloves of crushed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 4 diced tomatoes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1.5 cups peas
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese

For the lasagna bechamel sauce

  • 2 spoonful butter
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 4 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg

MAKING lasagna

  • Heat the sunflower oil and butter in a pan.
  • Fry the chopped onions for 3-4 minutes. Add carrots to it
  • Continue frying for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the minced meat to the roasted carrots and onions and wait for it to release its juice and absorb it again.
  • Add garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Finally, add the grated tomatoes and bay leaves and leave the mortar to cook.
  • After the tomato has absorbed a little water, add the peas and continue cooking the stuffing.
  • For the bechamel sauce; melt the butter in a saucepan. Roast the flour until it smells and turns colour.
  • Add cold milk to the roasted flour and cook by stirring constantly with the help of a whisk.
  • When you use uncooked lasagna sheets, your béchamel sauce should be more liquid than normal.
  • So be careful not to get it too solid.
  • After adding black pepper and grated nutmeg, remove from the stove.
  • Spread some bechamel sauce and stuffing on the bottom of the baking dish and arrange the lasagna sheets.
  • Then add the minced meat, bechamel sauce and a piece of grated cheddar cheese in order.
  • After reserving the béchamel sauce and grated cheddar cheese for the top layer of the lasagna, repeat this process for all the lasagna sheets, respectively.
  • Cover the lasagna with the remaining bechamel sauce and grated cheddar cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 20-25 minutes.
  • Cooking time may vary from oven to oven.
  • Cook in moderation until you are sure it is cooked.
  • Slice the lasagna out of the oven and serve it warm.
