How to store carrots?
This can be done in the following ways:

Store Carrots outside the Refrigerator
Forest carrots and winter carrots can easily be stored outside the refrigerator. First, remove the foliage from the carrots. Otherwise, the foliage will draw moisture from the carrots, making them limp. It reduces shelf life.
The best place to store is in a dark, cool place at 13 to 15 degrees. In the past, this was often the basement greenhouse, but today most houses do not have a basement closet, so you have to look for this place in the house.
When stored this way, the carrots will keep for about 4 weeks.
Carrots that have been washed and bought in the supermarket are there in the refrigerator. These carrots cannot be kept outside the refrigerator.
Store Carrots in the Refrigerator
Since most houses don’t have a basement or cool dark cupboard, most carrots are kept in the fridge. Then the shelf life is also shorter. Stored in the refrigerator, your carrots can keep for about 6-7 days. Before you put the carrots in the fridge, remove the tops first.
You can also keep the winter carrots in the refrigerator. It is not ideal and the shelf life will be shorter than if you keep the carrot outside of the refrigerator. This will be about 2 weeks shorter, so you can keep the winter carrot in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
Prepackaged crops and possibly scraped carrots are in the refrigerator in the supermarket. At home, you should also keep them in the fridge. For the storage time, you must adhere to the expiry date of the packaging. If the carrots are past this date and you still want to eat them, there is only 1 advice, look, smell, and taste.
Store Carrots in the Freezer
You can store all carrots in the freezer. Frozen, the carrots will keep for up to 12 months. After thawing, the carrots must be prepared quickly. They cannot be kept for a long time. Prepare the carrots within 24 hours.
Roots Keep In Water
What is also sometimes done is that the cleaned roots are kept in water. It sometimes happens to me that I have cleaned and cut them and then we decide to prepare something else.
You can then put the carrots, pan and all, in the water in the refrigerator. This is only possible for 1 day, otherwise, they will become limp.
It is better to take them out of the water and keep them in the refrigerator. Remove the carrots from the pan and pat them a little dry. Then put them in a sealable container and place it in the refrigerator. This way you can keep them for at least 3 days.
Preserve Deleted Roots
You can keep scraped and sliced carrots in the fridge. Rinse the roots under the tap and pat dry a little. Then put them in the sealable container and place it in the refrigerator. You can keep them for at least 3 days.
Carrots can be blanched very well. Clean the carrots with water and scrape them clean. Do not peel, because then you peel away a lot of vitamins.
Cut the carrot into slices and boil these slices for about 2 minutes in boiling water. Drain the carrots in a colander and rinse immediately with cold water. Pat the carrots dry and put the carrots in a sealable freezer container or plastic bag and place in the freezer compartment. You can now store the carrots for 12 months without any problems.
Carrots can be preserved very well. To do this, a number of steps must be taken.
Grate the carrots clean and cut them into 2-centimeter slices. Boil the carrots for two minutes and rinse under the tap with cold water.
Simultaneously boil water in a pan and add 100 grams of sugar for every liter of water and make sure that it dissolves well.
Put the carrots in the preserving jar and fill with the sugar water up to 1 centimeter below the rim. Close the jar and preserve the jars at 100 degrees for 2 hours.
Let the jars cool down now. When the carrots have been checked, they can still be used. This is due to the sugars. So check the pots regularly to see if they become cloudy and if the color has changed. If so, don’t eat anymore.
Carrots can also be preserved through fermentation. This also requires some actions.
Clean and slice or grate the carrots. Put the carrots in a jar. Make sure the carrots are below the neck of the pot. Fill the pot completely with the carrots.
Dissolve 5-10 grams of sugar per 1 liter of water and fill the pot up to 1 centimeter below the rim with this saltwater. Put the lid on the jar but don’t close it completely. This way, the gas that is created can escape. Leave the pot like this for 2 weeks. After these weeks you can taste whether it is to your taste. Do not leave it any longer.
If it is okay, seal the jar and place it in the refrigerator. The carrots are good for months.
Keeping Carrots in a Dish
Carrots in a dish that has been prepared can also be stored. It does depend on the other products that have been used. There is no fixed storage time for this and the only thing you can do is look, smell and taste.
How to Clean Carrots
Young carrots should not be peeled or scraped. Brushing is sufficient and the vitamin will remain in the root.
