How to store ripe apricots?
Ripe apricots have very delicate skin and soft flesh. Such apricots will be stored at room temperature for 3-4 days, then they will begin to rot, sort them every day and remove the spoiled ones. The refrigerator will not increase the shelf life.
Very ripe fruits should even be transferred carefully so as not to mash. If apricots are wrinkled, they should be eaten first, otherwise, they will start to rot. If there are a lot of such apricots, store them in the refrigerator for no more than a couple of days, and if you haven’t had time to eat them, cook jam or compote for the winter.

Unripe apricots are the most common type of apricots. They are picked ahead of schedule so that there is time to transport the fruit to stores, and so that they can be stored longer. If you bought several apricots, do not wash them, but just put a plastic container with a lid and put it in the refrigerator, the apricots will become softer after a week or two of such storage.
