How to Clean Corn Cob?
Before we even start preparing the corn cob, it is important to clean it well. First, remove all the leaves by pulling them down, then pull them off the cob. Do the same with the existing wires.
Then cut off the head and stem of the corn cob and wash the corn cob well under the tap. The corn on the cob is now ready for further cooking.
During your work in the kitchen, good and sharp knives are essential. This makes work fun and easy.
Corn on the cob Cooking
The first way to prepare corn on the cob is to boil the corn on the cob. Cut the flask clean and wash under the tap as described above.
Place a large pot of water on the heat source and bring the water to a boil. Make sure there is enough water in the pan, because the corn cobs must be submerged. Do not add salt to the boiling water as this will harden the grains on the outside.
When the water boils, the corn cobs can be placed in the pan, do this with tongs or slotted spoon and put the lid on the pan. Bring the water back to a boil.
When the water boils again, it will take about 5 minutes to cook the corn on the cob. The cooking time depends on the size of the corn kernels. The corn should be al dente and still have a nice crispy bite. Cooking longer than necessary will make the corn mushy.
Remove the corncobs from the pan with tongs or a slotted spoon and place them on a few sheets of kitchen paper. Then serve the corn on the cob on a platter and spread with vegetable butter and a little salt. Enjoy your meal.
Cooking Corn On The Cob In Microwave
Before cooking a corn cob in the microwave, we leave the leaves on the corn cob, they support the cooking process.
Place 1 corn on the cob at a time in a microwaveable bowl with a layer of water. Set the microwave on the highest setting and cook the corn on the cob for 5 minutes.
Remove the bowl from the microwave and place the corn on the cob on a cutting board. Now cut off a piece of the bottom and top and you can now easily remove the leaves.
Place the corn on the cob on a platter and it is ready to serve.
How to Grill Corn on the Cob?
Before the corn cob is grilled, it must first be cleaned. This is described above.
Heat the grill pan on a medium heat on the heat source. Meanwhile, clean the corn and wash the corn.
Brush each corn cob with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Make sure each corn kernel is in the olive oil and place the corn cobs in the grill pan.
Then grill the corn for 6-10 minutes. Keep turning the cobs in the grill pan to cook evenly. While grilling, grill marks will appear on the corn cobs. Some small corn kernels will burn, but there’s nothing you can do about this.
Remove the corn cobs from the grill pan and serve on a plate. Let it cool down so you can eat it with your hands.
How to Steam Corn on the Cob?
If you can cook a vegetable, you can also steam the vegetable. During steaming, taste, texture and vitamins are preserved.
First clean the flasks and wash them under the tap as described above.
Place the pan with a layer of water on the heat source and bring the water to a boil. Now put the corn cobs in the steamer basket, if they are too big you have to halve the cobs. Then put the lid on the pan and steam the corn on the cob for 8-10 minutes. The steaming time depends on the size of the corn cobs.
Remove the corn cobs from the steamer basket with tongs and they are ready to serve.
Corn On The Cob From The Oven
Again, cut and wash the corn cobs as described above.
Remove the baking tray from the oven and preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Drizzle the corn cob with olive oil or spread with vegetable butter. Then sprinkle the corn cob with salt and pepper.
Now take aluminum foil and wrap the corn cob completely in the foil. Make sure that the opening of the foil is at the top, so that the oil cannot run out of the foil. Place the corn on the cob on the baking sheet and slide the baking sheet into the oven.
Now bake the corn cobs in the oven. Large cobs need 30 minutes and smaller ones about 20 minutes.
Remove the corn cobs from the oven and let rest for 4 minutes. Now place the cobs on a plate and serve in the aluminum foil. This is a pleasant surprise when serving the corn on the cob.
Corn On The Barbecue
During the summer months it is a delight to barbecue corn on the cob. Tasty, fun and nutritious.
Since there are not only charcoal barbecues, but also gas and electric barbecues, very large barbecues and simple small ones, it is difficult to give unambiguous advice about the cooking time. The advice is actually look and taste. This way you know for sure whether the corn is cooked.
Wash and cut the corn cobs as described above and brush the corn cobs with oil.
When the barbecue is up to temperature, place the corn cobs on the barbecue. Make sure it is not too close to the coals. Turn the cobs regularly and after about 15-20 minutes they are done

Place the bowl in the microwave and steam the corn on the highest setting for 4-5 minutes.
When you use corn from token in a jar, you don’t have to put water in the microwave dish. Use the liquid in the can or jar for this. This corn only needs 1-2 minutes of cooking time.
Now put the corn in a colander and it is then ready to be served.
