How to make vinaigrette?  Making a good vinaigrette is in the ingredients you use. Good olive oil for salad and mustard you love. A good vinaigrette is sensitive to taste. What you like doesn’t have to be appreciated by someone else. So choose the ingredients that you like best. I write a few examples in this blog. But how do you actually make a vinaigrette?

How To Make Vinaigrette?

Mix olive oil and vinegar well. Now add the mustard and stir until you have an even consistency. Now you have a vinaigrette. If you want sweet vinaigrette, add sugar. You can also add herbs such as chives or parsley.

Making Vinaigrette

You can supplement this basic vinaigrette at your own discretion. These are examples with herbs for 2 people: 

  • 3 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp vinegar 
  • Salt and pepper to taste 
  • Fresh chopped chives or parsley, 1 tablespoon 1 

How to Make a Vinaigrette: 

  1. Combine olive oil and vinegar and stir well with a fork. 
  2. Now add spices and stir well.  
  3. Add a little salt and pepper and taste what you think. If you want more salt or pepper, you can add it now. 

Below is another one that is sweeter in taste.

Vinaigrette Recipe

If you want a sweet vinaigrette, you can add something sweet to the basic recipe, such as sugar or agave syrup. Also delicious with mustard!

Necessities: 

  • 3 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp mustard 
  • Pepper and salt 
  • 2 tsp agave syrup (AH) or sugar 

How to make this vinaigrette: 

  1. Add the mustard and vinegar together and stir well 
  2. Add the olive oil and stir well. 
  3. Now you can add the salt and pepper, taste if it is enough, do this little by little…. 
  4. The sugar can also be added. Stir well to allow the sugar to dissolve, then taste to make sure it’s good. 

Vinaigrette  Balsamic

Balsamic vinegar is a delicious vinegar that goes well with vegetables. Tomato, carrots, and over-grilled vegetables. 

Balsamic Vinaigrette

How to make a vinaigrette with balsamic vinegar: 

  • 6 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar 
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives or half a tablespoon dried chives 

How to make this vinaigrette: 

  1. Mix the olive oil with the balsamic vinegar 
  2. Add the chopped chives and stir again 
  3. Pour this over the grilled vegetables or salad. 

You can also use balsamic cream instead of balsamic vinegar. It is thicker and slightly sweeter. This is available ready-made at the supermarket. 

Vinaigrette Lemon

When you have tasted this fresh vinaigrette you are sold! If you find the vinaigrette too sour, you can of course add a little agave syrup. You know what you like. Try it out! 

Vinaigrette lemon

What you need to make this delicious lemon vinaigrette: 

  • 3 tablespoons mild olive oil 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (whichever you like) 
  • Bunch of chives or parsley finely chopped 
  • Sprig of fresh rosemary
  • Optional 1 tsp agave syrup and sugar. 

How to make this vinaigrette: 

  1. Stir the oil and mustard together, now add the agave syrup. Stir it well and taste. 
  2. Add the lemon juice and stir again to taste. If you find it too sour, you can add some agave syrup.  
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.  
  4. Taste what you think of your homemade vinaigrette.  

Delicious on your salad or for dipping cucumber. Enjoy your meal.

Vinaigrette Without Oil

If for whatever reason you do not want or cannot use oil in a salad or vegetable, you can use balsamic vinegar or balsamic cream. The cream is thicker than the vinegar and also tastes a bit sweeter. They are both delicious products on top of the vegetables.  

Apple cider vinegar can also be dripped over a salad. 

Vinaigrette Raspberry vinegar

This raspberry vinaigrette is a special one. The raspberry flavor is delicious and the agave makes it nice and sweet. Worth trying. When you do this in a salad with fresh raspberries, it is a lot of fun. 

Vinaigrette raspberry vinegar

Necessities: 

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 1 tablespoon raspberry vinegar 
  • 8 raspberries 
  • 2 tsp agave syrup 
  • Pepper and salt 

How to make this delicious raspberry vinaigrette: 

  1. Add everything except salt and pepper to a small food processor or immersion blender. Blend everything into a smooth vinaigrette. 
  2. Taste and add salt and pepper as desired. Taste again and see if you need more salt and pepper. Stir well and enjoy this vinaigrette. 
  3. Pour it over the salad. That’s all! Enjoy your meal! 

This raspberry vinaigrette has a wonderfully fresh and sweet taste.

Vinaigrette Apple cider vinegar

A shallot is finely chopped with this vinaigrette. This gives a surprisingly tasty taste to the vinaigrette.  

What you need for the vinaigrette apple cider vinegar: 

  • 150 ml mild olive oil 
  • 50 ml apple cider vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon mustard 
  • 1 tsp agave 
  • ½ shallot finely chopped 
  • 4 finely chopped dill sprigs or 2 tsp dry dill 
  • Pepper and salt 

This vinaigrette is for 4 people. 

How are you going to make these? Mix all ingredients except salt and pepper. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. Taste what you think and add more seasoning if necessary.  

Enjoy your meal! 

Vinaigrette Asparagus

This vinaigrette is a fruity one, with its orange juice and lemon juice. It’s a surprising combination but it works! 

What do you need for this asparagus vinaigrette: 

  • Juice of half a lemon 
  • Juice from one orange 
  • 2 tbsp mustard 
  • 1 tsp thyme 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil 
  • Salt and pepper 

How to make this vinaigrette: 

  1. Combine the lemon juice and orange juice and place in a bowl. 
  2. Add the mustard and oil and mix well. 
  3. The thyme can now be added to the vinaigrette. Let this stand for about 10 minutes to allow the thyme flavor to infuse into the vinaigrette. 
  4. Taste to see if you want to add salt and pepper, then do this now. Stir well so that all flavors are mixed.

Vinaigrette Sour Cream

What do you need to make a sour cream vinaigrette? You can make these in different ways. Because we cook plant-based, we use Oatly cream. Available at the large supermarkets. 

Vinaigrette Sour Cream

Necessities: 

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil 
  • 1 teaspoon mustard 
  • Red wine vinegar, about 1 tablespoon 
  • 2 full tablespoons of oatly cream 
  • Juice of almost 1 lemon, add the rest later, if you don’t find it too sour. 

How to make this sour cream vinaigrette: 

  1. Add the olive oil to the mustard and stir well. 
  2. The red wine vinegar can now be added and stir well. 
  3. You can now also add the lemon juice to the whole, just like the cream. 
  4. Stir everything well and taste what you think. If you don’t think it’s sour enough, add some lemon juice.   

If you think it could be creamier, add some Oatly cream.  

Food tastes different for everyone. Therefore, taste as much as possible of what you are making and add what you are missing. Your taste buds are not mine! Dare to try! 

Vinaigrette Artichoke Dip

What do you need for a delicious artichoke dip? 

  • 5 tablespoons olive oil 
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp agave syrup 
  • 1 finely chopped shallot 
  • Salt and pepper if desired. 

How are you going to make vinaigrette artichoke dip? Mix all ingredients well with a fork. Taste what you think and add more salt and pepper if needed.  

Because of these 10 vinaigrette varieties, you may be able to invent and try out a new one yourself. Make a party of your vinaigrette, have fun and enjoy your meal!
