4 Tips for Boxed Packaged Goods
1. Outer packing
- Always opt for quality, strong and rigid outer packaging. Better to prefer a box to plastic containers. To pack a parcel you have to start from a quality box – sturdy and new. It is not worth saving on the box!
- Corrugated cardboard is the best choice. It is important that the cardboard is strong and strong. It is recommended that you use a new box rather than recycle an already used one.
- The box must have adequate dimensions for the goods to be shipped. Boxes that are not adequately filled could easily bend or get damaged, while those that are excessively full risk breaking.
2. Inner packing

3. Seal properly

4. Travel documents

The suitable type of packaging will correspond to different types of boxed packaged goods, suitable for protecting the same goods during the journey.
Here are some protection systems that allow you to boxed packaged goods with maximum safety and protection. The choice of protection depends on the shipment.
Glass bottles
To pack a package to be shipped containing glass bottles, it is advisable to use compliant packaging, subject to homologation and approval by the carriers, as it is necessary to pack them so that they do not move inside the box:
- Make sure that the bottle is intact and that there are no damages or defects in the closure.
- Each bottle must be lined with absorbent and water-repellent materials.
- Arrange the bottles inside crates equipped with dividers and elements to fix them, polystyrene tubes or systems for packaging with polyethylene or air chambers.
- Any use of packaging with newspaper sheets or bubble wrap will not be considered suitable.
- It is preferable to ship the bottles with liquid separately, compared to goods of different types (books, clothing, etc.).
Aluminum milk
You can also send cans of materials such as aluminum, containing oil for example, with a maximum capacity of 5 liters. It is preferable that each package to be sent contains a maximum of 10 liters. of oil, for the convenience of transport by couriers and to avoid damage during shipping.
- Make sure the cans are intact and that there are no damages or cracks in the closure system.
- Protect the cans with a Styrofoam sheet and fill any gaps or gaps in the package with Styrofoam. Prevents the cans from colliding with each other.
- A last layer of polystyrene can be placed on top of the cans: it will now be possible to close and seal the box with adhesive tape.
- It is preferable not to introduce goods such as clothing or books into the box, for example, together with cans of oil and / or other liquid.
Fragile goods
Packing a package with fragile goods requires special care and attention. Fragile goods can be sent by express courier. Packaging plays a fundamental role in guaranteeing the integrity of the goods. Keep in mind that all goods, even fragile ones, are transported to the hubs, by means of automatic machines and belts, therefore they must be able to support any free fall from about 1.50 m.
- If you intend to ship fragile items, it is better to use two-layer corrugated cardboard boxes, in order to offer adequate protection from shocks and allow the possible overlapping of other boxes, without risk of damage to your goods.
- At the base of the box, insert a filler, as well as at the sides and top, to protect fragile goods with at least 5 centimeters thick and to avoid movement or the risk of the goods being tossed around during transport.
- Use foam cushions that wrap the goods and protect them from jolts or bumps. Just insert one at the base and one above the product.
Paintings
If you have to send a package to send pictures with protective glass, apply adhesive tape in the shape of an “X” on top, to avoid dispersion of glass fragments in case of breakage.
The ideal way to pack a package to ship with paintings is by wrapping it with large bubble wrap. Then wrap the picture with at least a double layer of bubble wrap, to offer maximum protection during transport, in case of bumps or jolts.

- Most of the time the box that contained the device is reused for sending, however it must be borne in mind that a reused packaging risks damaging the contents of the package sent.
- To limit the risk of damage to the goods during shipment, it is best to protect them with molded foam or foam cushions.
- Make sure that the goods in the package are at least 5 cm away from the edge of the box. This way bumps or hits will not damage the items.
- In the presence of electronic products it is better not to use polystyrene, which can cause static electricity.
Pallet or Furniture
You can ship furniture and other bulky personal belongings that fall into the non-standard large package category. To pack a large parcel of bulky and non-standard goods you must comply with the following guidelines:
- Use pallets to facilitate the movement of goods both for collection and during transport in the hubs and finally for delivery.
- For corner protection, use low density polyethylene foam corners.
- Apply molded foam or foam cushions around the furniture to be shipped.
- The piece of furniture can be housed in a cardboard or plywood container, applying polystyrene of at least 5 centimeters on all four sides, as a protective base. With the polystyrene chips and / or air cushions you can instead fill the empty spaces and ensure the perfect locking of the piece of furniture inside the packaging.
- Wrap the goods on the pallet with stretch film, to prevent movement or displacement.
Brochures, Folders, Documents
If you need to send drawings, documents, maps, blueprints, papers etc., we recommend that you:
- Place the product inside a protective plastic case to protect from moisture
- Introduce the product inside a container or other type of punch, which has a closure, or in a specific tube for this kind of goods, and suitable for the protection of documents that are not folded that can be rolled up.
Vinyls or CDs
To send a package containing drawings, maps, documents, papers, blueprints etc., you will need to:
- Pack the goods to be sent in a lockable box.
- For external packaging, use a double corrugated cardboard box, applying about 5 centimeters of styrofoam to all sides for protection during transport.
- Better to pack each product separately and use dividers.
Books
Books must be packed in resealable punched cardboard.
- To pack, use a cardboard box, preferably corrugated by applying on all sides of the polystyrene of about 5 cm which will be useful to protect the package during transport.

Sports Items
