5 original ways to make delicious pancakes
On the Eat at Home website, we have repeatedly told you how to cook classic thin pancakes and what toppings to choose for them. We shared tips on flipping pancakes and keeping them whole. But with the new Maslenitsa comes new ideas! For five original dishes for the holiday, we were inspired by a longtime partner of the project, the Hochland brand . With his participation, we came up with a delicious appetizer with salt, hearty envelopes for breakfast, colored pancakes with spicy cheese and sweet pancake desserts. Pancakes with bacon and cheese filling
We offer to cook an original version of unsweetened pancakes. During frying, add a little greenery to the surface of the pancake, and then you will get baked products. And then wrap one triangle of Hochland processed cheese in a hot pancake. We recommend taking an assorted package, and then all the pancakes will have fillings with different flavors: with Italian ham, tomatoes and herbs, bacon and others.
Ingredients:
For pancakes:
- chicken eggs – 3 pcs.
- milk – 350 ml
- wheat flour – 200 g
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
- butter – 30 g
- sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
- salt – 2 pinches
For baking:
- dill – 1 bunch
- green onion – 1 bunch
For filling:
- processed cheese Hochland ” Assorted ” – 140 g
Cooking method:
- Whisk eggs with sugar and salt. Add vegetable oil, mix.
- Add flour and beat with a mixer until smooth.
- Then pour in warm milk and melted butter. Whisk until bubbles form.
- Heat the pan well with vegetable oil. Pour in the batter and spread over the entire surface. Sprinkle immediately with chopped onion and dill.
- Flip the pancake over to the other side and cook for 1 more minute. Prepare all pancakes in the same way.
- Place Assorted Hochland Processed Cheese in each pancake and wrap in a triangle. Serve to the table.
Pancakes for breakfast
This recipe will come in handy if you have a few pancakes left from yesterday’s feast. We advise you to make a simple hearty breakfast based on them. All you need to do is take the pancakes prepared according to the previous recipe, add eggs, ham and a slice of processed Hochland Sandwich cheese, and then fry in a pan.
Ingredients:
- homemade pancakes – 2 pcs.
- slices of processed cheese Hochland ” Sandwich ” – 2 pcs.
- ham – 2 slices
- chicken eggs – 2 pcs.
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp. l.
- salt – to taste
- freshly ground black pepper – to taste
Cooking method:
- Place one slice of Hochland Sandwich Processed Cheese in the center of two ready-made pancakes. Top – ham. Wrap in an envelope.
- Transfer to a heated frying pan with vegetable oil. Crack an egg into the center of each envelope.
- Add salt and pepper, cover. Cook the eggs to the desired consistency over low heat.
Colored pancakes with spicy cheese
One of the easiest ways to make original pancakes is to add natural dye to the dough. For yellow pancakes, take turmeric, for red pancakes, beet juice. And if you decide to make greens, put some chopped spinach in the dough. And piquant processed cheese from the Hochland line with the addition of Swiss cheese will help to emphasize the unusual taste. A 400g package is enough for the whole family.
Ingredients:
For pancakes:
- chicken eggs – 2 pcs.
- milk – 450 ml
- wheat flour – 250 g
- sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
- salt – 2 pinches
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l.
Color additives:
- beet juice – 70 ml
- turmeric – 1 tsp
For filling:
- processed cheese Hochland ” With Swiss cheese ” – 400 g
Cooking method:
- Whisk eggs, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
- Pour in the milk and flour, beat until the dough forms without lumps.
- Divide the batter into three different bowls. Add beetroot juice to one, and turmeric diluted in a small amount of water to the other. The third part of the dough can be left without dye.
- Bake pancakes in a well-heated pan with a little vegetable oil.
- Slightly cooled pancakes are generously brushed with Hochland Swiss cheese melted cheese and rolled into a triangle. Arrange on a plate, alternating colors.
- Everything is perfect in this dish – both the original base and the noble filling. Try it!
Dutch baby pancakes
The German dish, which has gained popularity in the Netherlands, is prepared very simply: you need to mix all the ingredients for the dough, and then bake the product in the oven. In order for the dish to be cooked according to the correct technology, use a cast-iron frying pan. And to give the pancake tenderness, put Hochland curd cheese for cooking in the dough. The ingredients are designed for 2 pancakes with a diameter of 16-18 cm.
Ingredients:
For pancakes:
- chicken eggs – 3 pcs.
- milk – 180 ml
- wheat flour – 180 g
- Hochland curd cheese for cooking – 100 g
- sugar – 2 tbsp. l.
- butter – 40 g
- vanilla sugar – 10 g
- baking powder – 7 g
- salt – 1 pinch
For decoration:
- fruits – to taste
- berries – to taste
- liquid honey – to taste
Cooking method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a cast iron skillet with butter and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Add Hochland Cooking Cream Cheese and beat until smooth.
- Then add milk at room temperature and stir.
- Add flour and baking powder, knead the dough.
- Pour half of the dough into a hot pan and bake for 30 minutes. Bake the second pancake in the same way.
- Serve pancakes garnished with fruit, berries and honey.
Chocolate pancakes with cream filling
A complete dessert that can be served after dinner on any day. Pour a cup of tea and enjoy the combination of chocolate pancakes with the most delicate creamy filling based on Hochland Cream cheese.
Ingredients:
For pancakes:
- milk – 300 ml
- wheat flour – 180 g
- cocoa powder – 2 tbsp. l.
- chicken eggs – 2 pcs.
- sugar – 3 tbsp. l.
- vanilla sugar – 10 g
- salt – 1 pinch
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp. l.
For filling:
- curd cheese Hochland ” Creamy ” – 220 g
- powdered sugar – 1 tbsp. l.
Additionally:
- chocolate – 80 g
Cooking method:
- In a deep bowl, beat eggs with sugar, vanilla sugar and salt.
- Then pour in milk at room temperature and mix gently with a whisk.
- Add flour and cocoa powder. Knead the dough. Leave for 15 minutes.
- Bake thin pancakes in a well-heated pan with a little vegetable oil.
- Prepare the filling. Mix Hochland “Creamy” curd cheese with powdered sugar, if desired, you can add a little cinnamon.
- Spread each pancake generously with cream filling, fold in half, and then into a tube.
- Lay out the pancakes in a slide and pour over the melted chocolate. Ready!
